Equity@CSI Presents: A Documentary Film & Conversation about Racial Injustice
Sunday, June 28, 2020 • 6 Tammuz 5780
4:00 PM - 5:30 PMRegister below to join Equity@CSI for an online discussion about the documentary film "13th" and racial injustice.
"13th" explores how our U.S. prison system remains a tool for modern day enslavement. The film is fitting at this time given recent events and the current national climate on the issue of race, and since Friday, June 19 is Juneteenth, a date which marks the celebration of black liberation from enslavement in The United States.
The film is available on Netflix, YouTube or via director Ava DuVernay's website here.
Please watch the documentary, which provides additional insight into our steady progression toward this pivotal moment in our country, in advance of the discussion.
During the discussion we will use the reflection questions at this link. Feel free to review the questions ahead of the discussion. For additional resources about race, click here.
The Zoom link will be emailed to you upon registration.
