We shape our buildings, and our buildings shape us.

What is the capital campaign?

Our sacred community is coming together to raise $7 million. These funds will enable us to reimagine our spiritual home with new, exciting spaces that enhance our gatherings, celebrations, and rituals.

Your investment in our community will help construct: 

• a welcoming courtyard entryway and an outdoor pavilion for prayer and connection
• a bright, sacred community room
• a fully renovated kitchen for our shared celebrations
• a dedicated space for young families and small gatherings

A portion of the funds we raise will also enable us to steward our existing infrastructure and make upgrades that improve comfort, security, and accessibility throughout the building.

This once-in-a-generation campaign, distinct from the synagogue’s Annual Appeal, will ensure we meet the needs of our current and growing community while revitalizing the energy of our campus.

Why now?

Our community is bursting at the seams! 

In the last 10 years, we’ve seen a remarkable 70% increase in congregant families.

Now, we must ensure our space and our systems support our programmatic goals—providing an inviting, comfortable, modern spiritual home for intown Atlanta’s Jewish community. That means constructing new spaces and upgrading our existing infrastructure.

Our synagogue’s founding families went to great lengths and made significant sacrifices to establish our campus 70 years ago. It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 40 years since we last added to our campus.

Our recent Strategic Planning and Master Planning efforts have underscored the urgent need to revitalize our spaces. We will build upon the achievements of past generations.

We are ready to act. The time is now.

How we succeed

The campaign’s leadership is composed of volunteer CSI members with the expertise, fortitude, and capacity for teamwork needed to get this job done.

A professional owner’s representative with a proven track record in construction management for non-profits is guiding the effort. He will ensure we are as efficient and effective as possible.

The generosity of our community will drive this project’s success. To date, we have been overwhelmed by the response, energy, and truly meaningful pledges to this campaign effort.

We are already securing bold, boundary-pushing commitments from community members.
