Worship

At Congregation Shearith Israel, our services are designed to be open and welcoming to individuals of all backgrounds, and of all ages. No matter how little or extensive your knowledge of Hebrew or Judaism in general, our shul can be the place for you! Our services are both traditional and informal, creating a warm vibe of comfortability - and comfort!

Do you know how to lead services or leyn Torah?  Fantastic! We would love to have you sign up to help lead our egalitarian services with the Ashkenazi tunes of our ancestors. Have you always wanted to learn to read Torah but haven’t been up to the bimah since your bar or bat mitzvah? Wonderful, we have plenty of members who would love to teach you in a variety of settings!

To put it simply, at Shearith Israel it is our mission to make YOU feel comfortable within our walls. We feel that one of the ways to achieve this is through active participation in services! So, we invite you to reach out to us and sign up to find out more and join our kehilah!

Above all else, at CSI we aim to present a variety of ways to worship - all having the same purpose: To engage and connect spiritually. In addition to the traditional approaches to worship, we offer a more musical prayer option, led on Shabbat mornings by our own CSI Spiritual Music Innovator. It’s a family-friendly way to engage spiritually while also connecting socially with CSI friends!
