Shearith Israel Sings
Shearith Israel Sings
During COVID-19, CSI Spiritual Music Innovator Ori Salzberg has arranged and produced two musical performances by the Shearith Israel community. Enjoy the voices and ruach of our community via the links below, and stay tuned for more CSI singing projects!
Sing-a-Song - Purim 5781:
We came together in song and celebration for Purim 5781. Watch our community's rendition of Happie Hoffman's "There Will be Joy & Light" below!
Od Yishama - Chanukah 5781:
For Chanukah, the CSI community came together once again to sing, dance and bring warmth to this cold and complicated season. Rock out with us as we sing Joey Weisenberg's melody to the traditional wedding song Od Yishama, a call to the streets to bring rhythm and joy!
K'VAKARAT - hIGH hOLIDAYS 5781:
This High Holiday season, members of the Shearith Israel community joined their voices together in song, in a socially distanced performance! Click the button below to watch the video and take in CSI's rendition of a central piece of the High Holiday liturgy, "K'vakarat ro'eh edro", meaning "As a shepherd counts his flock, making each of them pass under the staff, so too God counts every living being, measuring the years and decreeing the destiny of every creature". Watch and listen below!
