Synagogue Scholar & Author Series:
Each year, we offer our popular Synagogue Scholar & Author Series, congregant-led presentations on a range of topics of expertise. Some of our past presentations have included:

- Everything you always wanted to know about the violin: its history, construction, performance techniques, and why it's so freakin' hard to play it!

2022 - 2023 Schedule & Presentations
melton course with rabbi melvin sirner: ethics of jewish living
Rabbi Melvin Sirner will present a 3-part class on Wednesday evenings at CSI during the 2021 - 2022 year. The courses begin August 25 and explore the wisdom of ancient and modern rabbis, scholars and thinkers, offering multiple Jewish approaches to conducting our lives in the communal and private spheres. Participants may attend the first two sessions before making a commitment to enroll for the entire course. Learn more and register.
miller introduction to judaism program with rabbi ariel root wolpe
We are pleased to offer the Miller Introduction to Judaism course for the greater Atlanta Jewish community this fall and winter. Rabbi Ariel Root Wolpe and guest teachers from communities across Atlanta will facilitate the program at Shearith Israel on Monday nights starting October 4. The course is divided into three six-week sessions this fall and winter. Learn more and register.

SCHOLARSTREAM 5783
Study with the brightest and most engaging scholars of the Conservative movement in the first of a year-long, eight-series Jewish learning program. Series 1 focuses on Torah Relationships. There is no fee for CSI members.
Scholarstream 5782 features three distinct arcs of learning that stand alone or flow into each other. Cultivating Our Relationships (series 1 & 2), Defining Our Sacred Spaces (series 3, 4, and 5), and Renewing Our Resilience (series 6, 7, and 8) will offer an exploration of who we are, where we are in relation to others, and how we move forward in this complicated world. Project Zug:
Project Zug is an online platform for Jewish Text learning in pairs. World class faculty of Jewish educational institute Hadar has curated sources for 30 different topics, with professionally produced videos that support the learning. Project Zug provides the source material, and empowers everyone from seasoned Judaic scholars to first-time study participants to engage in Jewish learning with curiosity, creativity and conviction.
