Legacy Project
LIFE & Legacy Project
A legacy is the expression of your lived values - and as a member of Shearith Israel, you are building the legacy of your family and community for a bright and meaningful future through the Jewish lens of your life. There are many ways in which being a part of the Shearith Israel community contributes to your legacy— by giving you the opportunity to do a mitzvah, supporting your children with strong Jewish values, and providing comfort when you suffer a loss.
The Shearith Israel Life and Legacy Project offers opportunities to think about your legacy now— together with your family— and helps you consider how you want to be remembered. It offers an opportunity for you to be part of a much larger effort by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation to assist communities across North America to promote after-lifetime giving to build endowments that will sustain valued organizations and vibrant Jewish communities for the next generation and beyond.
Participating in the Life and Legacy Project costs you nothing in your lifetime. Rather, it asks that you set aside an amount of money in your will or a small percent from your retirement funds that the shul will realize only after you have passed.
