summer camp send-off recap

This past Sunday, May 18, our synagogue came alive with energy, laughter, and the smell of BBQ as we gathered for a Camp Send-Off! With over 40 kids and their parents in attendance, Zimmerman Hall was transformed into a hub of fun and connection. Thanks to the incredible work of our Men’s Club, the grills were hot, the food was delicious, and the spirit of community was strong.

Lawn games brought out playful competition indoors, while each camper received special PJ swag—cozy pants to take with them to camp, keeping Shearith Israel close both in spirit and style.

This gathering showed commitment to sending our children into their summer adventures with a strong sense of identity, belonging, and connection to their community. It’s also a beautiful way to round out our programmatic year together.

We send our campers off with blessings for a summer full of joy, friendship, learning, and growth. May they return to us with stories, songs, favorite memories—and maybe even a few new dance moves.

See you in the fall, campers. We’ll be here waiting to hear all about it!
