Shearith Israel is an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue located in Intown Atlanta. Our congregation is devoted to spiritual and religious enrichment. We are especially passionate about Jewish education and community building!

At Shearith Israel, we are ritually traditional and courageously progressive. For more than 100 years, we have served the Atlanta area by providing an energetic environment for pursuing Jewish spirituality, learning, and friendship. Above all else, we strive to be a warm, welcoming community. Our congregation embraces its members and friends, and we would love you to join us for Shabbat or an upcoming event. Shalom!

We are fortunate to have enjoyed three wonderful years with Rabbi David, Rebekah, and family, who have endeared themselves and played an integral role in the life of the Shearith community. We wish them well as Rabbi David assumes a Senior Rabbi position in Maryland this summer. Please join us in saying l'hitraot and honoring their contributions to CSI during shabbat morning services and a special, not-to-be-missed kiddush luncheon. We will also honor our graduating seniors!

shabbat in the park - friday, may 23rd, 5:45 pm

Join Shearith Israel as we head "off-campus" to a few local parks this summer and fall. We'll kick off Shabbat with a few songs on guitar and prayers over wine/juice and challah, followed by a fun vegetarian-friendly meal. These casual Friday evenings are a terrific way to socialize with Shearith Israel members of all ages, so bring the kids AND the grown-ups and tell any prospective members that they are welcome to join us, too — the more, the merrier!

The first gathering of the season will take place on Friday, May 23rd from 5:45 - 7:30 pm at Glenlake Park in Decatur (1121 Church St, Decatur, GA 30030).

shavuot night of learning - sunday, june 1st, 6 pm

Join us for a special Shavuot night of learning as we enjoy a dairy dinner, cheesecake and other traditional desserts, and study late into the night together as a community. The program will include a panel discussion moderated by Samara Minkin featuring Dov Wilker, Regional Director, AJC Atlanta/Southeast and Eytan Davidson, Regional Director, ADL, as well as moderated text study and break-out learning sessions with Rabbi David, Ori Salzberg, and others. The theme for this year's Tikkun Leyl Shavuot is "Visions of the Jewish Future".

Shearith Israel is now livestreaming Shabbat morning services on our website as well as our YouTube and Facebook pages.
