6th annual CSI Retreat @ Ramah Darom
We are pleased to announce Congregation Shearith Israel’s 6th "Annual" Retreat! Join us for an exciting Shabbaton at the Kaplan Mitchell Retreat Center at Ramah Darom. The majestic mountain campsite and landscape will serve as an inspiring backdrop to build community, further strengthen our bonds, and experience a spiritually uplifting Shabbat surrounded by nature and our extended Shearith family. Info on the retreat is below, and we will continue to update this page with more specifics in the coming weeks. Let's go to the mountains!
Dates: friday, march 29 - sunday, march 31, 2024
Check-in will begin at 3pm on Friday, March 29th, at the Welcome Center.
Check out is at 11am on Sunday, March 31st.
Who is it for?
The retreat is for you! We are gathering together as a whole community- from our Lifetime Members to our babies and everyone in between. Singles, couples, families— all are welcome. Those who yearn for intentional community, intellectual stimulation, a soulful expression of Judaism, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts — all are encouraged to come!
Programming
The programming for the retreat will be varied and exciting. There will be indoor activities, outdoor activities, structured time, down time, and supervised programming for children as well. We will enjoy quality time, meals, and services together. Keep an eye out on this page for additional information on the programming for the Shabbaton.
Transportation
Transportation will not be provided, but we will facilitate carpools for those looking to share the ride, gas costs, and lower our carbon footprint.
What is covered by the registration fee?
The registration fee includes all meals (Friday night dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and Sunday brunch) and snacks, activities, accommodations, and a special, refreshing weekend with your extended Shearith family!
Full refunds are available until March 8th, 2024.
Accommodations
The options for accommodations are either shared cabins or hotel rooms. All accommodations include linens free of charge.
Housing Descriptions
CABINS: All of our cabins are heated, have ceiling fans and feature a spacious, screened-in porch. Cabins are camp-style, with private room for parents and main room for kids, with a bathroom of multiple stalls, showers and sinks. If 2 families share a cabin, each parent/couple will have a private room, and the children's bunk room and bathroom will be shared. Cabins are available for a minimum of 2 adults and 1 child per registration, or for individuals staying in the gendered group cabins.
STANDARD HOTELS: Hotel rooms have two queen size beds. All hotel rooms included standard hotel room amenities - heat, a/c, a table, chairs, bureau, closet and private bathroom. Please bring a hairdryer if required.
Retreat Pricing
New members who joined Shearith Israel after January 1, 2023, receive a 25% discount for the retreat.
