Blood Drive
Sunday, August 2, 2020 • 12 Av 5780
9:00 AM - 2:00 PMAmerican Red Cross Blood Donation CenterDo the mitzvah of donating blood at this quarterly Blood Drive hosted by Ahavath Achim Synagogue! Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
Please note: This drive will take place at the American Red Cross Blood Donation Center (1955 Monroe Drive NE Atlanta, GA 30324).
We encourage you to schedule an appointment through the Red Cross website.
For a limited time, the American Red Cross will test all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies as an additional health service to our donors. This testing may provide critical insight into whether donors may have possibly been exposed to this Coronavirus. The Red Cross is committed to helping others in meaningful ways during this pandemic.
The following safety precautions will be taken when you arrive for your appointment:
- Temperatures will be taken at the door.
- Beds will be six feet apart or more.
- Donors will be asked to come at their scheduled time; if they come early, and we have reached the number inside for that time, they will have to wait outside until it is their turn.
- All chairs will be sterilized between each donor visit.
The quarterly Blood Drive is sponsored by Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. Post 112, Fulton Masonic Lodge, and Ahavath Achim Synagogue. It is co-sponsored by Congregation Shearith Israel and Congregation Or VeShalom.
