Tot Shabbat & K'Tonton

At Shearith Israel, your little ones are always welcome. We have babysitting on Saturday mornings, and offer Tot Shabbat (for up to age 5 with a caretaker) with age-appropriate prayers, songs, movement, stories, and snacks every Shabbat morning from 10:30am – 11:15am in the Multi-purpose room at the front of the administrative wing. (View calendar for exceptions, such as holidays.) 

This year, we are pleased to welcome a new line-up of leaders for our short and sweet service for our youngest daveners:

Monthly line up for Tot Shabbat:

· 1^st and 3^rd Shabbat with Jana Fruchtman

· 2^nd Shabbat with Rabbi Helfand

· 4^th Shabbat with Nancy Gorod

· 5^th Shabbat (when applicable) with Sharon Graetz

when/where we meet:

Tot Shabbat meets every Saturday during Shabbat morning services at 10:30am in the Multi-purpose room at the front of the administrative wing.

what we do:

We have a blast learning about Jewish holidays and traditions via songs, fun art projects, stories, and other activities. 

how to get involved:

There is no need to register in advance – simply come and join the fun! Much of our programming is lay-led so we invite our parents to lend a hand when needed, and we’re always open to suggestions or ideas for new programs.  If you have questions, contact Sharon Graetz, Director of Youth Education, at sharon.graetz@shearithisrael.com.

K'tonton

We have offered a K’tonton Pre-School Program one Sunday morning each month from 10:30am – 11:45am in Zimmerman Hall. These programs provide Jewish content and fun for our friends ages five and under. In addition, these programs have proven to be a wonderful way for parents to meet and form their own community within the greater Shearith Israel community. Stay tuned for details on K'tonton for the 2023 - 2024 year.
